The phrase "Maui No Ka Oe" means "Maui is the Best." If you've been there, you may suspect as much, but did you know that your suspicions have been confirmed by other discriminating travelers? The readers of Conde Nast Traveler have consistently voted Maui the "Best Tropical Island in the World" over the likes of Bali, Moorea, and Bora Bora.

There are a variety of reasons for Maui's popularity, many of which we have yet to discover. To date, we've sampled many of its sunswept beaches, cultural diversions, challenging hikes, world-class golf courses, and award-winning restaurants. We've danced with whales, swum with turtles, climbed a dormant volcano, and traversed a bamboo forest to towering Waimoku Falls (at left). We've driven the (not so tortuous anymore) "Road to Hana" but also taken many roads less travelled.

Here we share our own recommendations for a vacation like no other. Please return from time to time. These recommendations will change as we discover new surprises to share with you. We also welcome your input for changes and deletions. Mahalo!
