Waimea Canyon is known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, and it's easy to see why. From the overlook it was difficult to appreciate it's scale - that is, until we saw a helicopter that was just a tiny dot within the canyon.

The canyon is considered by many to be even more beautiful than the Grand Canyon because it has deep shades of green combined with the red, rust, and brown of the rock formations.
