Every Hawaiian island seems to have a Secret Beach. This one on Kauai's north shore west of Kilauea Point is accessed by a steep, uneven trail. Picking your way down through the thick jungle, you're unprepared to see the beautiful, lava rock- punctuated sweep of beach at the end of the trail.

The lava rocks also create private swimming pools. We're told it's clothing optional.
