While touring the lighthouse at Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge (northern-most point in the Hawaiian Islands), we encountered this beautiful nene - the State Bird of Hawaii.

Although considered an endangered species, this guy must be used to people, as he let us approach and turned his best profile to the camera.
