After descending into Hanalei Valley and crossing the one-lane bridge, visitors are rewarded with this panoramic scene - acres of verdant taro fields backed by the vertical Na Pali mountains.

Cascading from the mountaintop would be anywhere from one to four waterfalls. On this particular day we saw only one. Later in the week we saw four and tried to find a road deeper into the valley, but luck wasn't on our side.
